A new Customer Experience Centre which immerses the customer in the design and creation process of packaging, has been opened by Sacia Pack allowing customers to go from idea to prototype in a day.

Based at the company’s Warrington Road plant in Wigan, the Customer Experience Centre is the first of its kind in the UK. The room features the latest generation technology in the form of a 20ft touch sensitive wall.

This technology enables users to create ideas on a large canvas which up to 10 people can work on at a time, and can even connect to users remotely who cannot physically attend the session thanks to cloud technology.

The facility also contains bespoke retail environments which have been decorated, arranged, shelved and lit exactly as you would find in a shop or supermarket to accurately simulate what the packaging would look like in the real world.

The company has launched the centre to involve the customer in the development of packaging for their product at every stage, which in turn lets SAICA get under the skin of the customer’s brand, requirements, and to develop a thorough understanding of the customer’s market.

Steve Mortimer, Saica Pack, said, ‘This is a great opportunity for Saica Wigan to showcase and benchmark the leading engagement process of customer-supplier relationships. We’ve put in considerable effort and investment into making sure the customer feels welcome and comfortable in a creative environment.

‘We have invested in the latest technology which allows us to achieve the most effective collaboration and facilitation of ideas so the customer walks away with the solution they need and a sense of being in safe and knowledgeable hands.’
