Even though tesa has acquired the Twinlock product division from Polymount, Twinlock’s production and product development division will remain in the Netherlands.
However, the division is till a 100% subsidiary of tesa SE.’The new tesa Twinlock assortment will complement our existing product range for the flexographic printing industry,’ said Norman Goldberg, head of direct industries at tesa. ‘This makes it easier for us to tap into the full potential of the segment.’
Jan Willem Boers, CEO of Polymount Internationa, added, ‘Since the introduction of the Twinlock sleeves in 2002 the products have developed and grown consistently and established a strong global market position in the flexographic industry. Under the umbrella of tesa SE, with its global infrastructures, as well as its leading position in the printing and paper sector, there is an opportunity to expand this success on an even broader basis.’
The concept of tesa Twinlock is to provide sustainable and re-usable plate mounting solutions for cost efficient and consistent high quality print jobs.
The foundation of tesa Twinlock is a base printing sleeve or cylinder that is coated with a layer of polyurethane (PU) foam. The PU foam is comprised of an open cell structure that always recovers and maintains its compressibility to effectively absorb bouncing effects. This provides high quality printing with consistent results over a long period.
On top of the PU foam layer, the unique tesa Twinlock adhesive coating is applied. This is a specially treated polymer that has been created to remain tacky and permanently maintain its adhesion properties. Through a careful cleaning process it is ready for endless of usages.
tesa Twinlockis available in four varieties/colours, and three hardness levels (soft/medium/hard). The product is certified for Full HD and HD.
