A new portable spectrophotometer has been announced by X-Rite Pantone, and will be showcased by the company at LOUPE Americas in September.
The eXact 2 Basic is an easy-to-use spectrophotometer designed for commercial print production, said X-Rite Pantone, combining density and L*a*b* colour measurement in a standalone handheld device. The company said the device will help press operators move beyond visual inspection and density-only workflows with “fast, objective colour verification” that supports more accurate production decisions without adding complexity to daily press operations.
At upcoming events such as LOUPE Americas, X-Rite Pantone says it will demonstrate how the eXact 2 family fits into an integrated colour workflow, spanning digital colour standards, ink formulation, press-side measurement, quality management, and production reporting.
Nick Meyer, business unit director of Print and Packaging at X-Rite Pantone, commented: “Reliable colour starts with accurate measurement, but it doesn’t end there. We’re helping printers and converters connect colour data across the production process so they can work more efficiently, reduce waste, and consistently meet customer expectations.”
