Siegwerk has announced plans to invest more than €300 million (£256 million) over the next five years as it continues its long-term growth strategy, Formula 2030.
The programme will focus on expanding production capacity, improving operational efficiency, strengthening technical capabilities and increasing customer support across its global operations.
The announcement follows the company’s highest annual investment volume to date in 2025, during which it more than doubled its typical annual investment spending. The programme combines organic growth initiatives with targeted mergers and acquisitions aimed at strengthening Siegwerk’s position in key packaging markets.
“Every investment we make is guided by a clear objective: helping our customers and partners excel,” said Nicolas Wiedmann, CEO at Siegwerk. “Whether we expand capacity, automate production, strengthen technical expertise or invest in digitalisation, we aim to deliver greater speed, higher quality, reliable supply, improved efficiency and stronger local support.”
Among Siegwerk’s key developments in 2025 was the acquisition of functional coatings specialist Allinova, strengthening its coatings business and expertise in water-based dispersions. The company is also expanding production capacity in India to support the growth of functional coatings across Asia.
The company also increased its regional footprint with a new site in Dubai, acquired land in Indonesia for future expansion and began rebuilding and expanding its Bhiwadi facility in India, which is set to become Siegwerk’s largest Centre of Excellence.
Further investments included new inline white production facilities in Germany and the US, warehouse expansions and digital infrastructure projects designed to improve efficiency, product quality and responsiveness to customer needs.
“Our increased investment activities demonstrate our commitment to strengthening capabilities, improving customer service and expanding our position in key growth markets,” added Wiedmann. “By combining strategic acquisitions with targeted infrastructure, technology and digitalisation initiatives, we are building a future-ready organization that creates long-term value for customers and partners.”
The company’s investment programme has continued into 2026 with the acquisition of Hi-Tech Inks in March. Siegwerk said the acquisition strengthens its position in India’s flexible packaging inks market, with the combined business accounting for more than 20% of the sector. The investment programme forms part of the company’s wider strategy to expand its global manufacturing footprint and technical capabilities while supporting long-term growth.
