Netherlands-based Van Son Liquids BV has formed strategic partnership with Horizon Inks Ltd to supply water-based inks for the UK flexographic market.
Both parties believe that Van Son Liquids’ manufacturing and R&D expertise can complement and enhance the knowledge and experience of the UK flexographic industry already well established within the team at Horizon Inks.
The recent installation by Van Son Liquids of a Rexson Aqua 32 automated ink dispensing system at the Horizon Inks facility in Slaithwaite, West Yorkshire, means that co-branded water-based inks are already available to UK customers.
Wim van Mastright, managing director at Van Son Liquids, commented, ‘The technical background and knowhow of Horizon will ensure proper local support to the WB flexo market in the UK. Working from concentrates and different (technical) varnishes, Horizon is able to accommodate any requirement in the market on the spot.’
Carl Leadbeater, Horizon Inks managing director, added, ‘The partnership means that Horizon can focus more on the customer in respect of support and deliveries and can boast being a small UK-based company with the ability of a large pan-European ink supplier. The installation of the Rexson dispensing system means that we can now produce inks more quickly and efficiently while maintaining a strong consistency in colour blends.’
