Matthias and Daniel Ostendorf, board Optikett, and Bert van den Brink, Technical Director of MPS.
MPS made the first sale of its new hybrid EF SYMJET flexo/digital press launched in cooperation with technology partner Domino at Labelexpo Europe.
The first SYMJET press was sold during the show to German printer Optikett, which also purchased an EF flexo press just prior to Labelexpo Europe.
The Domino digital unit uses Kyocera print heads to print a resolution of 600×600 dpi, with up to six colours and opaque white. With a 340 mm web width on the Domino printer and wider web width of 430 mm on the MPS press, converters can run more labels across when running in pure flexo mode, and at a higher speed.
The company presented an extended product portfolio at the show with live press demonstrations. Another debut was given to the next generation EF Neo press enhanced with new software with close loop print pressure setting solutions, an improved operator interface, and a more user-friendly functionality that simplifies press navigation and control. The EB narrow web label press was also on the stand and ran live demonstrations upon request.
MPS was the first narrow web press manufacturer at Labelexpo Europe to show the hybrid GEW LED UV system (ArcLED) in combination with low migration inks, integrated on the next generation EF Neo press.
Green balloons on the stand showed the company’s participation in the Linerless Trail, which drew a strong interest from show attendees interested in leading linerless technologies. The company also sponsored the Label Academy, which held Masterclasses on-site during Labelexpo Europe, with Hans Poortinga of MPS presenting during the Masterclass of conventional printing.
