The 2017 International FlexoTech Print and Innovation Awards drew in a record number of guests as the industry gathered to celebrate some of the finest examples of flexo print.
The awards, 23 November, were held at the London Hilton Metropole Edgware Road, and were once again preceded by the FlexoTech seminar, co-hosted by Flint Group Narrow Web, which this year looked at the opportunities to be found in short run flexible packaging enabled by the latest developemtns in UV LED inks and curing.
The presenter for the night was football legend John Barnes who entertained the crowd with anecdotes from his career as well as his signature rap from New Order’s world cup song, World in Motion.
Over the course of the evening 15 awards were given out, including the Supreme Award, which went to Westpak for its Kött-Bullar Delikatess print. The judges said of the winning entry, ‘A fine stochastic screen count with excellent contrast and definition. A complex job achieved with perfect print quality.’
During the dinner a charity raffle organised by Hamillroad Software and FlexoTech magazine raised £1357 plus gift aid for the charity EACH (East Anglian Childrens Hospices). The charity provides which cares for children and young people with life-threatening conditions and supports their families.
